The billboards that were put up without authorization in Botanica district of Chisinau are to be removed. Deputy head of Botanica Oleg Ratoi, in the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, said 84 such billboards will be dismantled, IPN reports.
As many as 49 billboards have been taken away so far. Of these, 15 were dismantled by owners voluntarily. Dismantling works are now performed on the section of Dacia Blvd between the streets Trandafirilor and Ciuflea. Several unauthorized billboards haven’t been yet taken away owing to disagreements as these can be removed by special equipment only.
According to Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca, the light boxes placed in the middle of the viaduct could remain.
This February, the mayor ordered that the billboards set up at rotaries and near the roadway on the boulevards Dacia and Calea Orheiului should be dismantled. At the beginning of June, over 100 billboards placed on Stefan cel Mare si Sfant Blvd were taken away in connection with road repair works.
