On Tuesday, August 4, Municipal authorities commenced the removal of billboards from M. Viteazul Street. Gheorghe Tofan, head of the urban landscape and advertisements section of the Department of Architecture, Urbanism and Land Relations, told Info-Prim Neo that a plan for these removals has already been elaborated. Concomitantly, billboards will be removed from streets Petricani and Vadul lui Voda.
Previously, the Chisinau City Hall announced that the authorizations for installing outdoor advertisements, which were given to the respective advertisement agencies, had been annulled. An order in this regard had been signed by Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca, and concerned 20 businesses. The measure was taken due to the reparation works, extension of the roadway, and management of the adjacent sidewalks on streets Mihai Viteazul, Petricani and Vadul lui Voda.
On the same note, the mayor of the capital ordered the removal, until June 1, of billboards that had been illegally installed on the City Gates – Airport road segment. The ads of agencies that did not follow the order have been removed forcedly.
