The bill to introduce the European course as the strategic foreign policy course into the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova will appear in two-three weeks, Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu stated in the program “Place for Dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.

According to the Speaker, there was set up a working group that consists of MPs of several parliamentary groups. These have discussions with constitutional law and foreign policy experts. The deadline for presenting the bill is the end of this November. “The working group is to provide the product in two-three weeks. We didn’t stop. I also consider this is a good idea as it will strengthen the legal and constitutional effects of what we suggested to be irreversible in the country’s development, namely the path of European integration,” stated Andrian Candu.

He also said that this is not only a political message and there will be legal effects. If they manage to amend the Constitution, all the state institutions and functionaries will work out policies and will implement them so that the Republic of Moldova comes closer to the development model of the European Union swifter and in the most qualitative way.

Andrian Candu noted that they discuss the necessity of amending the supreme law’s articles on justice with representatives of the Venice Commission and EU officials. “The bill to modify the composition of the Superior Council of Magistracy and exclude the absolute immunity in favor of functional immunity for judges, which was approved by the Cabinet, is to reach Parliament,” said the Speaker.
