Bidding process in public procurement has been modified

The process of public procurement through inviting bids is expected to become more transparent following the modifications adopted by the Government to the respective guidelines. Under the amendments, the public contracting authorities will be obliged to invite bids, depending on the subject of the procurement, from the companies included a list of qualified contractors, which was compiled by the Public Procurement Agency. The intention was to exclude the formal nature of the public procurement competitions. Prior to the amendments, usually only several companies, favored by the procuring parties, were invited to bid.
