One of the young biathlon hopes, Ukrainian athlete Snejana Tiseeva, made her debut under the Moldovan colors at the inaugural stage of the IBU Cup 2016. At the competition in Norway’s Beiloston, Tiseeva, 20, ranked 73rd out of 98 competitors in 7.5km sprint, with the result of 28:46.1, IPN reports.
This year, her father has returned to Moldova after a long absence and Snejana also decided to replace her nationality. Tiseeva became thus one of Moldova’s hopes for qualification for the 2018 Winter Olympics.
The winner’s rostrum in Norway was mounted by Denise Hermann of Germany, Dzinara Alimbekava f Belarus and Ekaterina Glazyrina of Russia. The next stage of the IBU CUP will take place in Italy on December 9-11.
