Biathlete Alina Stremous finishes 10th in Beijing

Moldova’s biathlete Alina Stremous has come in 10th place at the 7.5 km sprint event in the Olympic Games, 15.2 seconds behind the winner, Norway’s Marte Olsbu Roeiseland.

Another Moldovan female biathlete, Alla Ghilenko, finished 86th.

In men’s sprint, Moldova’s Pavel Magazeev and Maksim Makarov will compete on Saturday.

Moldovan athletes debuted at the Beijing Winter Olympics earlier this week. First, the women entered the competition in biathlon. Alina Stremous and Alla Ghilenko ran in the individual 15 km race, finishing 37th and 72nd, respectively. In the luge event, Doina Descalui is currently 33rd after the first two rounds held at the Yanqing Center.
