Best Taxpayer of 2008 contest launched

The individuals and legal entities that have performed economic and financial activities for at least three years and obtained taxable income during the past two years can take part in the Best Taxpayer of the Year contest. Those that want to participate must submit the necessary documents to the State Main Tax Inspectorate by January 12, 2009, Info-Prim Neo reports. The contest is open to persons that produced by 10% more goods than in 2007 or provided by 10% more services than last year, while the fiscal obligations make up at least 10% of the trading profit. Also, the fiscal obligations paid must be by at least 10% larger than in 2007. The applicants should have no debts to the national public budget and no recorded violations of the fiscal legislation. The holders of the Best Taxpayer of 2008 title will not be inspected by the central control bodies in 2009. But they will be inspected if no inspections have been carried out at them during the past three fiscal years; legal cases have been opened against them or are being examined; the MPs or the Audit Office filed interpellations; the employers, the police or inspection bodies of the countries with which Moldova signed international cooperation agreements lodged complaints. Ninety-two taxpayers were conferred the title of best taxpayers of the year in 2007.
