The best equipped sports complex of the country was inaugurated in Causeni on November 22. The center has five halls for gymnastics, martial arts, Greco-Roman wrestling, tennis and boxing as well as a sauna, swimming pool and a training gym. The largest hall is intended for team games, IPN reports.
The construction and equipment of the complex cost 40 million lei. “27 million was allocated by the Regional Developemnt Agency, while another 13 million lei by the district council,” the center’s head Vladimir Iurco said in the inauguration.
The district’s administration voiced hope that the complex will host national and international competitions. “The athletes and students will train free at our center,” added Iurco.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior government officials, members of the National Olympic Committee and representatives of the football, tennis and handball federations.
