“The Transnistrian conflict is an acute problem for all the students and teachers of the Romanian language schools working in Transnistria,” the director of the Rybnitsa-based theoretical lyceum “Evrika” Eugenia Halus said during the handover of the Christmas and New Year gifts given by the Ministry of Education for Transistorize students, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The meeting of students studying at the eight Transnistria schools that are under the Moldovan constitution authorities' jurisdiction and children from the boarding schools in Bender and Leova with Minister of Education Leonid Bujor took place at the National Center for Children and Youth “Artico” on December 22.
The Ministry of Education prepared sweet presents for the Transnistria students and a washing machine bought with support from composer and panpipe player Constantin Moscovici for the children of the Leova boarding school.
“We offer gifts, mainly candies, as we also were children and were very glad when we received presents, especially on Christmas and New Year,” Leonid Bujor said.
Eleonora Cercavskiii, the principal of “Stefan cel Mare si Sfant” high school in Grigoriopol, which now operates in Dorotskaya, said such actions show people's good nature. “This shows that the Moldovan authorities are not indifferent to the events taking place in Transnistria,” she said.
Aurelia Hancu, the head of the National Center for Children and Youth “Artico”, said all the artistic groups of the Center prepared a concert for the guests in order to create a holiday atmosphere.
The director of “Evrika” lyceum Eugenia Hanus said that besides presents and attention, the students of the lyceum need a building. “We have tried to obtain a building during 20 years. In 2004, we were forced to leave the building erected by the Ministry of Education of Moldova and move to a kindergarten that we rent out for a large sum of money,” she said.
The Ministry of Education offers Christmas and New Year presents to the Transnistria students the second consecutive year.
