The applications for receiving benefits intended for families with children will be submitted not only to the Local House of Social Insurance, but also through representative of the mayor’s office and electronically, accessing the service “e-Application for Benefits for Families with Children”. On October 26, the Cabinet approved changes to the regulations concerning the method of calculating and paying the benefits, IPN reports.

The service “e-Application for Benefits for Families with Children” is available on the common governmental portal of public services (www.servicii.gov.md) and on the website of the National House of Social Insurance (www.cnas.md).

Electronic applications can be completed to ask for the lump-sum allowance given on birth, the monthly benefit up to the child’s age of three for socially insured persons and up to the child’s age of one year and a half for socially uninsured persons.

The electronic application is filled out separately for each type of benefit. The applicant must introduce the personal IDNP (personal identification number) and the child’s IDNP. The application is accepted only when the applicant and the child are included in the State Population Register. The application for the lump-sum birth allowance is filed by the mother or the legal representative in case of the mother’s death.

According to the authors of the changes, when submitting an electronic application, there is no need to collect the documents required for calculating benefits. All the data is taken from state registers in order to shorten the processing time.
