The International Beach Soccer Federation, in concert with the Moldovan Football Federation, decided to cancel the Euro Beach Soccer League that was set to take place in Chisinau during August 19-23, IPN reports.
The decision was taken in connection with the epidemiological situation generated by COVID-19. The Moldovan Football Federation said the tournament could be held next summer.
Moldova won the right to stage the first major international beach soccer competition after the break caused by the novel coronavirus. The Euro Beach Soccer League tournament, Division B, was to take place on the new beach soccer arena in the park “La Izvor” in Chisinau. The competition was to involve 16 teams.
