Beach football team win bronze

Lexmax Chisinau ranked third in the International Beach Football Tournament “Batumi-2011” held in Georgia. In the match for the bronze medals, Moldova’s champion beat the Georgian squad Merthali 7-1, Info-Prim Neo reports. In groups, Lexmax defeated the teams Universitet Georgia 3-2 and Khazar Azerbaidjan 6-5, but lost to Merthali 5-6 in overtime. In semifinals, the pupils of coach Alexandru Sorochin were beaten by Fulad Iran 1-3. Alexandru Sorochin was designated the best coach of the tournament. Lexmax included mainly players of Moldova’s national beach football squad, counting Ruslan Miron, Denis Coicev, Mihai Cojusea, Andrei Negara, Ian Iacovenco, Vasile Arlet, and Valeriu Baiesu. Nine teams took part in the competition in Georgia.
