The difficult regional situation confirms the need to maintain and consolidate the neutrality of Moldova, insists the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, whose lawmakers introduced a bill to strengthen this status.
According to them, under the current circumstances, it is important to adopt legislative mechanisms that would prevent the country from being involved in conflicts that threaten its sovereignty and security.
The proposed draft provides for the prohibition of the use of the territory of the Republic of Moldova for transit, the deployment of foreign troops and weapons; as well as the ban on the use of the country’s airspace for the military purposes of other countries, etc.
„Legislative consolidation of neutrality will be a new measure of confidence in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, which, in turn, will bring Moldova’s reintegration closer”, the party said in a statement.
