Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) Chisinau, which is a branch of BCR SA, intends to invest in its expansion, the bank’s executive president Sorin Andrei said in a meeting with reporters, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The bank has been under organizational restructuring during a year and a half. In September, the clients totaled 10,000 private individuals and legal entities, an increase of 40% compared with the end of 2009. According to Sorin Andrei, the rise in the number of clients was due to the improved quality of the services, the opening of a new branch, the launch of new products, including the Senior Account for pensioners, overdraft on salary card, the real estate service Escrow, the acceptance of the Visa cards. The number of holders of BCR Chisinau cards has doubled. “We are preoccupied with clients’ needs and are looking for appropriate solutions for making profit,” the executive president said. Asked if the clients’ ethnicity counts for them, Sorin Andrei said they have never paid attention to this. The bank’s clients include Romanians, Turks, Russians, Ukrainians and people of other origins. When the client makes a choice, it is the professionalism and attitude of the bank’s employees and the range of services that count. Sorin Andrei also said they pay increased attention to the loan portfolio. Earlier, the bank did not have local intermediation, but now the loans released to private individuals total 140 million lei, while to legal entities- 288 million lei. The registered capital rose to 562 million lei after issuing three sets of shares. In 2006, the major holding of Banca Comerciala Romana SA was bought by Austria’s Erste Financial Group.
