A batch of over 1100 doses of undeclared cosmetic preparations was seized at the Chisinau International Airport. According to the Customs Service, the preparations belong to a 44-year-old woman and her 19-year-old son, who just arrived from Yerevan.
The case was registered in the Arrivals Sector, following a physical search of the luggage. The batch was preliminarily evaluated at 14,000 euros. The owners of the luggage subsequently told officers that the preparations were to be used in a beauty salon that they own.
“If they carried a maximum of two bottles and were able to demonstrate that the products were intended for personal use and not for commercial purposes, there would be no problem whatsoever. But in today’s case, we clearly are talking about a commercial amount", customs inspector Virgiliu Sătari told IPN.
The batch has been seized and is subject to confiscation, with investigation continuing.
