Bassarabian Church organized vacations for 260 children

About 260 children coming from disadvantaged families from Ulmu, Ialoveni and Ghiliceni villages, Telenesti have rested on 25 July – 10 August in the summer camps organized in these localities by the Social Mission „Diaconia” of the Bassarabian Church. The director of the Social Mission „Diaconia”, Igor Belei, says that these two camps were aimed at organizing vacations for underprivileged children, whose parents do not have the possibility to arrange for their children’s summer holidays in camps, to the seaside or other resorts. „We proposed ourselves to stimulate as well the activity the Bassarabian Church parishes’ volunteers, who have worked disinterestedly in these camps, together with volunteers from Italy, who offered their helping hand,” Belei noted. According to him, 6 Italian volunteers and 24 Moldovan volunteers organized for children different games, sports competitions and other amusement activities. The Social Mission „Diaconia” of the Bassarabian Church organizes for the second time such camps. They were organized for the first time in 2005, in Ulmu village and Orhei town.
