Officials of the Ministry of Economy consider the adoption of the new Law on Industrial Parks that provides a number of concessions when creating these parks can stimulate this process and encourage investments in industry, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Recently, the Government approved a decision to set up an industrial park in Tarigrad village, Drochia. The park will be administered by SRL Bioenergagro that will build a plant for producing gas from biomass together with a Ukrainian partner. The plant will occupy an area of 14 hectares. The investment will amount to €25 million.
A project to construct a solar batteries company with Chinese investments was launched late last year. The plant will be erected in an industrial park in Orhei district at a cost of US$60 million.
Tender contests to select consultancy companies for making feasibility studies concerning the creation of industrial parks instead of companies in which the state has major holdings were held last autumn with the support of the UNDP and the World Bank. Those companies include SA Raut situated in the municipality of Balti, UMS (cleanup equipment plant) based in Falesti and companies located in the districts of Hancesti, Edinet, Cantemir, and Cainari, where the infrastructure of the former industrial centers was partially preserved.
The Ministry of Economy, in partnership with the local public authorities, is carrying out feasibility studies in order to create industrial parks within the Balti free economic zone and the Cimislia district center.
The strategy for reorganizing the companies located on the territory of the former Chisinau tractor plant and creating an industrial park there was formulated in 2010. Those companies were inventoried so as to see what fixed assets can be used in the production process.
Last year, there were approved amendments to the Law on Scientific-Technological Parks and Business Incubators. They remove the ambiguities and stimulate the transformation of the results of the scientific researches into products, services and new technological processes.
