Bashkan Formuzal: New configuration of Gagauz parliament to boost political stability in area

The new configuration of the People’s Assembly form the Gagauz autonomy will strengthen the political stability in the region, bashkan Mihail Formuzal has commented after the poll of 16 March, Info-Prim Neo reports, as informed by a communique of the governor’s press service. The Gagauz voters, actively participating in the elections, preponderantly gave their ballots for independent candidates. As expected, no political party can declare itself victorious or defeated in the elections for the People’s Assembly, Mihail Formuzal said. According to the governor, the results of the first round demonstrate that the new configuration of the People’s Assembly will be viable. The work of the local legislature will be streamlined to boost the political stability in the autonomy and to develop a constructive dialog with Moldova’s central organs. 165 candidates, of which 81 independents, have competed for those 35 deputy seats.
