The Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment imposed a ban on the fishing of Black Sea shad and herring on some sections of the Nistru River until May 11. An order to this effect has been made, IPN reports.
It is banned fishing Black Sea herring (Alosa immaculata) and Black Sea shad (Alosa tanaica) on the section from the barrage of the Dubasari Hydropower Plant up to Palanca village of Stefan Voda district and in the Turunciuc branch. The ban is imposed for the period of mass migration of the given species of fish with the aim of maintaining the reproductive potential and population of this fish in the lower Nistru.
The order made at the start of April, concerning the banning of sports and amateur fishing of all species of fish in natural lakes, was modified. The ban on fishing on the section from Naslavcea village up to Camenca town was extended by five days until June 20.
