The Ministry of the Environment made an order by which it instituted prohibition periods for the industrial/commercial, sports and amateur fishing of all species of fish and for the extraction of mollusks and crustaceans, IPN reports.
From March 25 until March 31, fishing in the Cuchurgan accumulation lake is banned.
During 90 days between April 1 and June 29, it is banned fishing on the Manta moors and in the left branches of the Prut River, in the Nistru River on the section from Naslavcea village up to Camenca town, in the Dubasari accumulation lake, on the section between the Dubasari Hydroelectric Plant and Palanca village and at fish-breeding facilities.
From April 11 until June 9 inclusive, fishing is banned in the Prut from the intersection with Moldova’s northern border with Ukraine, up to Tetcani village, in the Costesti-Stinca accumulation lake and in the Prut on the section between the Costesti-Stinca accumulation hydro-technical station up to Giurgiulesti village.
The fines for fishing in banned places vary between 100 and 400 lei for private individuals and from 4,000 to 6,000 lei for legal entities.
