During November 14-17 schools in Balti municipality will be evaluated by the Education Ministry's specialized departments, Info-Prim Neo reports
“The evaluation will look at the quality of education, at how the national curricula and the framework education plan are followed. Current assessment tests will be used to check how students perform at certain disciplines ”, said Education Minister Mihail Sleahtitchi.
Assessors will attend classes to verify the accuracy of filling school papers and the correctness of grading students by teachers, school attendance and dropout rates, and to what extent schools are provided with textbooks and other supplies, including software.
Adrian Ghicov, the director of the Ministry's Evaluation Agency, said a number of evaluations were conducted this year and they revealed a set of common deficiencies, including teachers' failure to observe the Ministry's methodology guidelines, incorrect or nonobjective grading, and unwarranted grade corrections. In some cases, absent students were marked as attending.
