Balti residents forced to give back compensations for heat

About 3,000 inhabitants of Balti town risk being obliged to return the compensations for heat that they received from the local budget during the last two years for the reason that they do not form part of the groups of persons who benefit from such assistance. The list was recently revised by the Tax Inspectorate. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Balti Social Assistance and Family Protection Division Vladimir Sementul said that the families on a monthly income higher than 1,500 lei per capita are not entitled to compensations for heat. The persons were notified that they should submit the documents concerning the family’s income to the mayor’s office again. The method by which the money will be paid back has not been yet decided.
