Balti maternity hospital under investigation

The prosecutors are investigating the Balti maternity hospital. The Financial-Economic Investigations and Human Rights Protection Division of the General Prosecutor’s Office instituted legal proceedings over violation of the medical assistance methods by negligence, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office. The legal case was opened after a person filed a complaint, accusing the medical personnel of the maternity ward of the Balti Municipal Clinical Hospital of negligence. The given person says that owing to non-qualitative medical assistance, his son born on October 8, 2008 became an invalid of the first degree. The medical personnel that assisted the birth are liable to up to five years in jail, with or without the deprivation of the right to hold a certain post or carry out a certain activity for a period of two to five years.
