Balti firefighters use extension ladder to take people out of burning building

The dwellers of a five-story apartment building located in the municipality of Balti experienced a real scare when an apartment caught fire. Dorina Sochirca, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the firefighters were called by a seller of a shop situated nearby, who saw how frightened people were rushing out of the house. The fire started in an apartment on the second floor, when the owners weren’t at home. Five persons, including a child, did not manage to get out because of the smoke. The firefighters used the extension ladder to take them out. The cause of fire is yet to be established. The flames destroyed things in a dormitory and on the balcony.
