There is no danger as regards the provision of the country with food wheat, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumakov said after the November 3 meeting of the Government, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. According to the official, the food wheat harvest this year was 345,000 tonnes. The state reserve contains another 60,000 tonnes of food wheat. This volume satisfies the internal demand. The bread-making companies have sufficient flour reserves, the deputy minister said. The Balti bakery and the specialized companies in Basarabeasca and Edinet applied for only 3,400 tonnes of the 15,000 tonnes of food wheat that the Government decided to lend to bakeries. As to the supply of fodder wheat, Vasile Bumakov said Moldova this year will be able to export about 250,000 tonnes of such wheat. One third of this volume was already sold abroad.
