Overnight snowfall coupled with windy weather downed trees at least on 26 addresses in Chisinau, municipal chief arborist Eliferie Haruta has told Info-Prim Neo.
The most serious cases include a 10 meter tall acacia that collapsed over four cars stationed on Asachi Street. Two other cars were damaged by downed trees on Matei Basarab Street and Sarmizegetusa Street. In Muncesti neighborhood, four large trees yielded under the burden of snow, but no damage was caused.
“By noon, three crews of arborists responded to 12 out of the 26 addresses”, said Eliferie Haruta, advising drivers to avoid parking under trees in snowy weather.
