Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov returns from vacation to personally monitor the liquidation of the aftereffects of floods. Moscow's mayor, Yuri Luzhkov promises aid to Transnistria. The Moscow-based resorts and summer camps will receive Transnistrian children evacuated from floods, Info-Prim Neo's correspondent in the area reports.
Tens of houses in Sucleia village remain in water. The people there complain that the authorities take no steps to evacuate them. The local authorities say the situation is under control and the protection dam will resist.
The water is penetrating deeper in Tiraspol. The Suvorov market, in downtown, and more dwelling blocks are partially flooded. The water-cleaning facilities are threatened to be flooded. The water is rising, as the people are readying to evacuate.
According to the last official data announced, some 400 houses were stricken by floods in Moldova's eastern area, namely in Camenca, Rabnita, Grigoriopol and Bender. 1,184 persons have been evacuated, as 2,000 people and 275 vehicles are involved in rescue operations.
