Baccalaureate examination session have started

About 5,000 other language speaking candidates will take the first Baccalaureate exam, in the Romanian language and literature, on June 4, starting at 9am. The exam lasts for three academic hours, IPN reports.

According to the Education Ministry, the envelopes with the sealed tests will be taken from branches of the bank where they are kept at 8am. The head of the Baccalaureate centers will open the envelope on the side indicated on the radio by the Assessment and Examination Agency. If the envelope is opened in a different way, the exam in the given institution will be cancelled.

Only the members of the national exams commission have access to the examination hall. The teachers who are not involved in exams, the parents and the technical personnel cannot enter the hall. The candidates will enter the examination hall only after they present the identity card or the permit of stay for foreigners who study in Moldova, 15 minutes before the start of the exam. The candidate will sit by one at the desk, in alphabetical order.

The test papers will be graded at two national centers during June 4-26, while the results will be posted in the Baccalaureate centers on June 27. The candidates will have 48 hours to challenge the grade since the announcement of the results.

The second Baccalaureate exam, in the language of learning, will be sat on June 7, the exam in the foreign languages on June 11, the exam in the specialization subject (math, history of Romanians and universal history, arts, technology, or sports) on June 14, while the exam of one’s choice on June 18. About 17,000 candidates chose geography, which is the largest number. On June 21, the candidates speaking other languages than Romanian will take the last exam, in the mother tongue – Ukrainian, Bulgarian, or Gagauz.

Contacted by IPN, the head of the Education Ministry’s press service Violina Lavric said that video cameras were installed at all the 103 Baccalaureate centers. Jamming equipment and scanners will be set up only where there are signals.

Collecting money for organizing the graduation exams is not allowed. All the costs related to the organization and holding of exams are covered by the state.

About 36,000 candidates will take graduations exams this year.
