Examinees for baccalaureate will sign an affidavit that they don’t have sources for copying or other materials that would help them solve the tests. If they are caught cheating, they will have to leave the exam room. In previous years, verification was first done to see if the pupil truly cheated or not. The discussion was held during a work meeting on the organization of the 2012 Baccalaureate session, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Moldovanu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“On one hand, we democratize the process and on the other hand, we make the BAC examinees more responsible”, declared the Minister of Education Mihail Sleahtitchi.
Beginning this year, History will be an obligatory exam both at the end of secondary school and lyceum. The exam of language and literature will the first in the session for speakers of other languages.
Pupils who obtained medals at international competitions in the 10th-12th grades are exempted from the exam at the respective subject and get a top mark. Previously, this was applied only for those who won medals in the 12th grade.
The testees who fail the exam in the first session will get a second chance in the supplementary session in spring. They will also have the right to appeal within 48 hours after the announcement of results, unlike previous years when they had only 24 hours. The appeal committee will reevaluate only the requested questions and the mark will be irreversible.
The exams will take place in June.
