Baby falls from second floor together with carriage

An eight-month old child fell from the second floor of a house together with the carriage. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the incident happened in an unfinished house in Durlesti town. A family with two children from Ciuciuleni village, Nisporeni, came to visit their relatives. The parents took the carriage out on the balcony and left the younger child in the care of the elder one. The balcony did not yet have a balustrade. At a certain moment, the carriage moved and fell from a height of about 2.5 meters. Fortunately, the child remained in the carriage and the fall was cushioned. An ambulance took him to the hospital with a concussion and a thorax trauma. A woman, 54, tried to kill herself by jumping from the third floor of an apartment building located on Iazului St in Chisinau. She was rushed to the Emergency Hospital with a leg fracture, open fracture of the elbow and a concussion. A 31-year-old man took pills in order to kill himself while under the influence. He was admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital for detox. In 24 hours, the Chisinau Ambulance Service dealt with 757 calls, including 65 cases of trauma, 62 cases of acute viral infection, 8 strokes and 22 deliveries.
