Babies will also have identity cards

The babies will be issued with identity cards free of charge simultaneously with the birth certificates, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Information Development Pavel Buceatchi said Monday that if the Government approves the given decision, the procedure for registering newborns will be simplified. Also, the babies will be better supervised and the number of cases of trafficking in children will be reduced. The identity cards for newborns will be issued starting with April 30 on the basis of the applications filed by the parents. Unlike adult’s identity cards, the cards for babies will not include a photograph.
