Average salary rose about 10% in March

The average gross monthly nominal salary this March was 3,273.5 lei, up 9.7% from last March, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the National Bureau of Statistics.
The average pay in the budgetary sphere was 2,957.5 lei, an increase of 11.9% compared with March 2011. In the economic sphere, the salary rose by 8.8% to 3,423.6 lei.
The pay in the financial sector increased by 115.6% to 7,214.8 lei, in the transport and communications area – by 111% to 3,871.4 lei, in the healthcare and social assistance sector – by 111.6% to 3,110 lei.
Even if there were no significant percentage raises compared with last year, the salaries in such areas as the real estate, electric power, heat, gas and water are rather high, of over 4,000 and 5,000 lei.
The lowest salary increases were recorded in fish-breeding (104.7% to 1,581.7 lei), agriculture, hunting, and forestry (110.9% to 1,951.4 lei), hotels and restaurants (109.2% to 2,429.2 lei).
The real salary determined based on the gross nominal pay and the consumer price index this March was 104.1% on last March.
