Average salary in 2010 could be 2,950 lei

The Government projects that the average monthly salary in economy next year will be 2,950 lei, Info Prim Neo reports. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriul Lazar said the size of the average pay is forecast based on the macroeconomic indicators for 2010-2013. The average salary for 2009 was projected to be 3,140 lei, but, as Lazar said, the projection was exaggerated as it did not take into account the consequences of the crisis and the reduction in budget revenues and will thus be 2,750 lei at the end of the year. The projected average salary in economy will be used to limit the base for calculating the individual state social insurance contributions to five monthly average pays, in accordance with the law on the public social insurance system.
