Average monthly salary up 9% in Moldova in 2008

The average monthly salary in the non-governmental entities in Moldova hiked about 9% in 2008, compared to 2007, reaching 2,529.7 lei, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the National Statistics Bureau. The biggest salaries were paid to the employees of the financial-banking sector – 5,446.3 lei, the employees from the energy, heating and utilities got – 4,316.4 lei, from the mining industry – 3,739.7 lei, transport and communications – 3,533.1 lei, constructions – 3,468.9 lei, etc. The smallest salaries, below the country's average, were paid to employees from pisciculture – 1,367.7 lei, agriculture, hunting and foresting – 1,484.4 lei, education -1,670.5 lei, healthcare and social assistance – 2,265.5 lei. The governmental institutions' employees got a monthly salary of 1,954.3 lei, while the ones from the real sector – 2,837.6 lei.
