Average monthly salary rose 8% during two months

The average monthly salary of a national economy worker over January-February this year rose by 8% compared with the corresponding period last year, to 2,537.3 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the National Bureau of Statistics. According to the Bureau, the salaries in the budgetary sector grew by 22% to 2,164.4 lei, while in the real sector of the economy by 10% to 2,760.6 lei. The average salary in February was 2,532.0 lei. Compared with last February, the average pay rose by 13%, while the real salary by about 10%. In the budgetary sector, the average salary was 2,237.3 lei, up 24% from February 2008. The average pay in the real sector was 2,707.9 lei, up 10%.
