The average monthly salary in the national economy over January-August this year was [2,696.4 lei], a 9.2% increase compared with the corresponding period last year, if taking into account the rate of inflation, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the National Bureau of Statistics. The average salary in the budgetary sector was 2,338.1 lei, while in the real sector of the economy - 2,902.5 lei. The highest salaries in the period were paid in the financial sector (5,704.8 lei), energy sector (4,548.7 lei) and transport sector (3,658.3 lei), while the lowest ones – in agriculture, hunting and forestry (1,338.3 lei). The average pay in the eduction system was 2,037.2 lei. The average salary in August was 2,757.2 lei. In the real sector of the economy, it was 3,019 lei, while in the budgetary sector – 2,297.5 lei. The trade unions demand that the new government formulate a bill to set the minimum subsistence level for different groups of salary earners. According to the vice president of the National Confederation of Trade Unions Petru Chiriac, the minimum subsistence level in the second quarter of this year was 1,310 lei at a time when the minimum salary in the real sector is 900 lei, while in the budgetary sphere – only 600 lei.
