The average consumer prices in October increased by about 0.5% compared to the previous month. The increase was influenced by the about 0.9% rise food prices and the about 0.5% rise in nonfood prices, said the National Bureau of Statistics.
Food products became more expensive in October. Compared to September, the prices of vegetables increased by 3.8%, of chicken eggs by 2%, of milk and dairy products by 1.8%, of vegetable oil by 1%. On the other hand, fruit prices decreased by 0.1%.
Among nonfoods, the prices of footwear in the reported period grew by 0.9%, of fuels by 0.8% (including coal by 4.0%, gasoline by 1.2%, diesel by 0.7%), medicines by 0.7%, clothing by 0.5%.
Average consumer prices in October 2024, compared to the same period last year, increased by 5.3%, including food products by 7.2%, non-food goods by 5.3% and services provided to the population by 2.0%.
