Beginning on 15, Parliament will assemble for its regular autumn/winter session, as decreed by Speaker Igor Grosu.
The first meeting of the session will be announced after Parliament’s Standing Bureau prepares the draft agenda.
MPs gathered together last Friday for an extraordinary meeting to examine to examine the latest set of amendment to the State Budget approved by the Government. The amendments approved in the first reading on Friday are to be adopted in the final reading at the next meeting of the extraordinary session, which is slated for September 8.
Parliament has two ordinary sessions per year. The spring/summer session begins in February and cannot exceed the end of July. The autumn/winter session begins in September and cannot exceed the end of December. Under the Parliament Regulations, outside of ordinary sessions, the legislature may assemble for extraordinary or special meetings on the request of the President, the Speaker or one-third of MPs.
