The drivers are urged not to leave personal effects in the car in sight when they leave the vehicle, to park only in specially designed and lit places and to outfit the cars with a safe alarm system. The recommendations are disseminated by the Chisinau Police Division within the campaign “Preventing car and accessory thefts”.
During the campaign, the Chisinau police will carry out special activities to inform the population. The recommendations for drivers will be posted at filling stations as well. The measures are aimed at discouraging such types of offenses.
As many as 181 car and accessory thefts have been reported in the municipality of Chisinau so far this year.
