Fees for issuing authorizations will be standardized. Specifically, a fee of 450 lei will be introduced to obtain the authorization of authorized administrator or the license of judicial expert, similar to other legal professions. The provisions in this regard are contained in a draft approved by the government on Wednesday, IPN reports.

The draft also envisages reducing the deadlines for issuing authorizations. Authorizations for interpreters and translators will be issued within 15 calendar days, compared to 30 working days previously.

At the same time, members of the professional committees of judicial experts, interpreters and translators will receive an allowance equivalent to 1/10 of the average monthly salary forecast for a maximum of three meetings per month.

The Ministry of Justice specifies that the promotion of the present draft will ensure the functionality of the professional commissions. This concerns the Attestation and Disciplinary Commission, which is responsible for the attestation of authorized interpreters and translators and for disciplinary liability. The same applies to the Commission for the Qualification and Evaluation of Legal Experts, which is responsible for admitting legal experts to the profession and evaluating their work at regular intervals.
