Air traffic with Italy will be halted as of March 12, midnight. A decision to this effect was taken by the National Extraordinary Commission for Public Health. The measure is valid until March 31, but could be extended, IPN reports.
The air operators are obliged not to allow travellers from Italy, China, Iran and South Korea who are on the way to Moldova with stopovers to get onto planes.
Three cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Moldova by March 10. All the three persons – two women aged 48 and 60 and a 60-year-old man - returned recently from Italy.
