Prime Minister Iurie Leanca called a meeting with representatives of state institutions responsible for the implementation of the U.S. Government-funded Compact program, where it was decided to create a working group for assessing Moldova’s accomplishments in achieving the program’s objectives and for identifying the areas that will make the country eligible for a new program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.
“We need to join our efforts, of all the state institutions, including the prosecution service, the National Anticorruption Center and the Audit Office, so as to make progress in implementing the initiated reforms aimed at strengthening democracy and increasing government efficiency,” stated the Premier.
Though the Compact program, Moldova benefitted from US$262 million in assistance for rehabilitating national roads and irrigation systems.
