Authorities promise a better heating season

Municipality promises to the residents of Chisinau a better prepared heating season compared with previous years. The General Communal Department (GCD) from the City Hall increased the pace of works related to the new heating season. According to the head of GCD, Mihai Solcan, in 2006 the financial resources allocated by the Municipal Council are sufficient. In the light of this situation, the housing fund will be properly prepared, especially on ensuring with thermal energy and hot water in order to eliminate cases when pipes brake in the middle of the winter. Solcan mentioned that until now all the necessary materials for preparing networks will be purchased, including pipes for renewing thermal networks. The implementation of the works and their quality is closely monitored, so that the purchased material would be used properly. The internal thermal wash, hydraulic testing will be 100% performed in the housing fund compared with last year’s 30%, Solcan said, cited by Info-Prim Neo. According to JSC “Termocom” administrator, Dionisie Antocel, over the past 4 years, due to the reorganization plans adopted in 2001, the financial and technical-material enterprises state of affairs has significantly improved. In order to diminish the production loss, the main networks were renewed in the last 3 years, As a result, the network loss reduced from 37% in 2001 to 19.2% at present. At the same time the production expenses diminished by about MDL 200 mln annually.
