The authorities have launched a Telegram channel for verifying government information called First Source.
“This will be used to swiftly inform about the most important decisions taken by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and to refute fake news and manipulations,” says the presentation message.
The channel is a digest of press releases of institutions and messages of the government authorities.
“The false information and propaganda are dangerous instruments for society that regrettably are widely used at present. That’s why we bank on you vigilance and ask you NOT to disseminate fake news and unverified and dubious information. Consequently, we invite you to inform yourselves from reliable sources and to join the First Source channel on Telegram through https://t.me/prima_sursa_md,” says a message posted on the Government’s Facebook page.
