Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi said that what he said in a news conference is the original. The rest represented misinterpretations and distorting of the meaning of what he said, with or without a bad invention. What followed confirms that there is no general, unique, national approach. An extensive analysis of what happened between 1990 and July 1992, when a ceasefire agreement was signed between the then President of Russia Boris Yeltsin and the then President of Moldova Mircea Snegur, wasn’t carried out, IPN reports.

“So, to say it more diplomatically, our recent past is assessed chaotically. Our generation knows very well what happened and how it happened. So, we are not the generation of our children who learned from our stories, from books, newspapers or articles about those events. From the information that I could study during my career, I know much more about the involvement of some in the armed conflict of 1992,” Aureliu Ciocoi stated in an interview for RFE/RL’s Moldovan Service.

According to him, the task is to correctly interpret those events and see what Chisinau and Tiraspol did wrong, who became involved and how. The research area is great.

Several days ago, Aureliu Ciocoi stated in a news conference that according to facts, the army of the Russian Federation deployed in eastern Moldova intervened to stop the bloodshed there.
