Nine health workers tested positive for COVID-19 on April 13. “It is rejoicing that those persons do not include doctors and are all auxiliary staff members. The fact that we already to not have infected doctors can be due to vaccination,” acting Prime Minister Aureliu Ciocoi stated in a press briefing after the meeting of the Unified Command Center, IPN reports.

Aureliu Ciocoi noted the number of active cases remains high (11890) and the COVID -19 infection rate is also high. Many patients are in a serious state (1,281) and there are many patients in a very serious state (293). The immunization pace is slow as it is yet at the first stage and the citizens show particular resistance to immunization. Even so, 1,551 persons got the second dose of vaccine by now.

Making reference to the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the official said that almost 70,000 compatriots entered Moldova since the state of emergency was declared on April 1 until now. There were identified 122 false COVID-19 tests. It was determined that a network provided such tests for €50 to €100 apiece. Since April 1, the police officers have monitored 1,385 places of worship and determined that the imposed rules were obeyed during services.

The police compiled 2,967 contravention reports against private individuals and 2,174 reports against legal entities. According to Aureliu Ciocoi, this points to lack of discipline and disobeying of the imposed restrictions. The imposed fines came to 4.5 million lei and over 1 million lei of this sum was already paid. A number of 67 contravention reports were written between 11pm and 5am, primarily on Friday and Saturday. There is a worrisome tendency among the youth as many young people travel to villas or rented apartments to have parties there during curfew hours.

Aureliu Ciocoi noted the National Public Health Agency carried out 27 surprise inspections and identified five irregularities at three private medical institutions and two preschool institutions.
