The attorney of the employees of “Antena C” and “Euro TV” filed an appeal to the Supreme Court of Justice on Friday, March 30, seeking the over-turning of the ruling in the case against the Chisinau Municipal Council. The staffers request that the stations “Antena C” and “Euro TV” become again public stations and all the employees are restored to their jobs. The appeal was filed after the Chisinau Court of Appeals rejected the request to initiate proceedings against the CMC and the former interim mayor of Chisinau Vasile Ursu, for the illegal reorganisation and sale of the two stations. Over 30 employees requested the Court to annul the procedure related to the sale of the media institutions, as well as the ordinances by the interim mayor on the appointment of the new station managers. The appeal was filed, according to the legal procedures, to the Court of Appeals in order to be forwarded to the Supreme Court of Justice within one month. The court will examine the appeal when it will find time, lawyer Maria Orlov told Info-Prim Neo. The appeal application specifies that the journalists disagree with the decision of the first court as the main circumstances were not fully asserted and cleared up; the circumstances considered by the first court as asserted were not proved; the norms of the material law were not applied correctly; the law was misinterpreted, the wrong Law was applied etc. The Supreme Court of Justice is requested to quash the decision of the Chisinau Court of Appeals and to pronounce a new judgement, by means of which to satisfy the claims of journalists without sending it to the Court of Appeals for re-judging the case.
