More owners of attic-like apartments in Chisinau face the danger of experiencing fires. As a result of inspections at 25 attic-like apartment stories built before 2010, employees of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service identified a series of irregularities that pose a threat of fire in these apartments, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Service, the identified violations include absence of protection tubes for the wiring in halls, lack of fire escape, blocking of the evacuation ways with furniture, and presence of flammable materials in apartments.
The risks of fire are assessed by five groups of inspectors that will carry out inspections by June 5. Afterward, another group of experts will generalize the results based on the identified irregularities. The block administrators will be issued with prescriptions for removing the violations. If they do not follow them, they will be fined.
There will be inspected about 140 attack-like apartment stories.
