Attendance at the kindergartens of Chisinau at the beginning of this week decreased to about 60%. According to specialists of the Chisinau General Division of Education, Youth and Sport, such a situation is typical for the Easter holidays.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Division’s Preschool Management Service Angela Monacu said that during the paschal holidays the children go on visits to grandparents together with their parents. The school students are on vacation this week and the parents decide to leave the kids in the care of elder brothers and sisters.
The attendance during the week that preceded Easter was also lower, of about 75%.
In the municipality of Chisinau, there are 157 kindergartens. These are attended by over 38,000 children.
