Attempt to obtain credits with fake documents to be punished with 12 years of imprisonment

Two impostors, trying to obtain a credit with fake documents were caught at “Mobiasbanca” According to the bank’s Press Service, referring to the Police Office of Centru District, a group of persons, presented fake documents on the wage incomes in order to obtain a consumption credit. The bank’s security service operatively found out the fraud and together with police bodies caught the delinquents in the act, when trying to receive the credit. The investigation bodies will establish who is involved in counterfeiting of documents; this offence is punished with up to 12 years of imprisonment. According to the experts, the attempts to obtain credits using fake documents increased considerably in the Republic of Moldova. The practiced method includes work certificates of inexistent companies, counterfeited certificates remitted by well-known companies, fake or lost identity documents. Taking into consideration these facts the bank’s security service elaborated a series of special actions aiming at identifying or preventing the fraud attempts. For example, verifying attentively the authenticity of the presented documents with the help of the data base of the Ministry of Informational technologies, the Press Service of “Mobiasbanca” informs, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
